COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains how Gatemo ("Gatemo", "we", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit the gatemo.info website (the "Site"). It should be read alongside the Privacy Policy, which sets out more information about how personal data is handled.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information about how a site is being used. Cookies set by the website operator are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website operator are called "third-party cookies".
In addition to cookies, the Site may use similar technologies such as web beacons (also known as pixel tags), local storage objects, and session storage. References to "cookies" in this policy include all such similar technologies unless otherwise stated.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
The Site uses cookies in the following four categories. You may accept or decline optional categories via the cookie consent banner displayed when you first visit the Site, or at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to function and cannot be disabled in our systems. They are typically set only in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging into a session, or submitting a form. These cookies do not store personally identifiable information beyond what is technically necessary. They are set on the basis of the Site operator's legitimate interest in providing a functioning service and do not require your consent.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| gatemo_consent | Stores your cookie consent preference so the banner is not shown on every page visit. | 12 months |
| PHPSESSID | Standard PHP session identifier required to maintain a session state while you navigate the Site. | Session |
| cf_clearance | Set by the hosting infrastructure to verify that a visitor has passed a security check. Required for access. | 30 minutes |
2.2 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies enable enhanced features and personalisation on the Site, such as remembering your language preference or the region you are viewing from. These cookies may be set by Gatemo or by third-party providers whose services are embedded in the Site. If you decline functional cookies, some features of the Site may not work as intended. These cookies require your consent before they are set.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| gatemo_region | Remembers your selected region preference so that content is displayed in the appropriate context on subsequent visits. | 6 months |
| gatemo_ui_pref | Stores interface preferences (e.g. expanded or collapsed navigation state) to improve your browsing experience. | 3 months |
2.3 Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies collect information about how visitors use the Site, including which pages are visited most often and whether error messages are received. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous — it cannot be used to identify individual visitors. Analytics cookies help Gatemo understand how the Site is being used so that improvements can be made. These cookies require your consent before they are set.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics. Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics. Used to persist session state across page requests for the current analytics session. | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics. Stores and updates a unique value for each page visited within a 24-hour session window. | 24 hours |
2.4 Third-Party Embedded Content
The Site embeds content from third-party services, including an interactive location map on the Contact page (provided by Google Maps). When you load a page containing such embedded content, those third parties may set their own cookies or use similar tracking technologies subject to their own privacy and cookie policies. Gatemo does not control the cookies set by third parties. Where third-party embedded content is present, this will be indicated on the relevant page.
Google Maps: when the Contact page is loaded, Google may set cookies as described in the Google Privacy Policy. These are loaded only when the map section of the Contact page is rendered.
3. How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences
You may update your cookie preferences at any time using the following methods:
- Cookie Settings link — click the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page on this Site to re-open the consent banner and update your selections.
- Browser settings — most browsers allow you to refuse some or all cookies, or to receive an alert when cookies are being set. The method for doing this varies by browser. Instructions for the most common browsers are available from the browser provider's help pages:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Safari (macOS and iOS)
- Microsoft Edge
- Opt-out tools — for analytics cookies provided by Google, you may opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Please note that refusing or disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Site. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled via the consent banner as they are required for the Site to operate.
4. Cookie Retention Periods
Cookies are retained for the duration stated in the tables above. Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them via your browser settings. Gatemo reviews and updates its cookie inventory on a periodic basis; this policy will be updated to reflect any material changes to the cookies in use.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your browsing activity tracked. The Site does not currently respond to DNT signals because no uniform standard for recognising and honouring DNT signals has been finalised. You may use the cookie management tools described in Section 3 above to limit tracking on the Site.
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
Gatemo may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies used on the Site or in applicable law. The date of the most recent revision is stated at the top of this page. Where changes are material, Gatemo will re-display the consent banner so that you have the opportunity to review and update your preferences.
